Tiaan & Bianca

It started with a crush…

Bianca first noticed Tiaan at church. And by “noticed,” we mean she developed a very big crush on him. The crush was there, the butterflies were there, the daydreaming was probably there… the confidence, however, was not. So Bianca did what any very confident girl would do: absolutely nothing.

What she didn’t know was that Tiaan had also noticed her. A few months later, completely unaware of Bianca’s secret crush, Tiaan decided to send her a DM. And just like that, the story began.

The first date

Our first date was filled with so much talking that we barely managed to eat. We ordered pasta, but because the conversation simply would not stop, we eventually had to take our food home because we couldn’t get a bite in!

Tiaan then casually asked Bianca what she was doing the next day. One date turned into a picnic, which turned into going to church together the day after that. Somewhere between the pasta, the picnic, and all the talking, two best friends were instantly born.

Growing together

From the beginning, our relationship has been filled with a lot of laughter. Some of our favourite memories are the simplest ones: making up completely ridiculous dances, trying out new foods, and singing Gospel songs in the car while Bianca laughed at Tiaan for getting approximately half of the lyrics wrong.

But amongst all the laughter, something much deeper was growing too.

We began to realise just how important it was to have God at the centre of our relationship. We prayed for one another, trusted God with our future, and watched Him take the things we had prayed for and somehow give us even more than we could have imagined.

Everyone who knows us will tell you that we just… make sense. Perhaps because it would take someone with a very specific level of energy to keep up with the two of us.

And then came the proposal…

Bianca had always dreamed of being proposed to by the beach. It was a childhood dream, and something she had imagined long before she ever knew who would be standing beside her.

Tiaan knew.

And he somehow managed to make the dream even better than she had imagined. He secretly arranged for an engagement dress and makeup to be brought along in a friend’s car, leaving Bianca to get ready in a parking lot before walking down to the beach. Waiting for her were family and friends, lined up with roses and letters, before she finally reached Tiaan and the beautiful picnic he had set up on the beach.

And then came the question. She said yes.

Bianca had dreamed about that moment since their very first date, but Tiaan exceeded every version of it she had ever imagined.

And now…

What started with a secret crush, a DM, and a first date where we talked so much we forgot to eat has brought us here.

Two best friends. Two people who laugh a little too much. Two people who love a little too loudly. Two people who have seen God faithfully lead their relationship every step of the way.

And now, on 9 January 2027, we get to say yes to forever.

We can’t wait to celebrate the beginning of our next chapter with the people we love most.
